Thank you for this. There was a point in my life when homelessness was a real possibility, because my family didn't have the resources for prolonged joblessness. And I had a friend who fell into homelessness because of injury and no family members to take him in for a few months. We had him over at our place as he was seeking a new job, but for a while, he had no car, so he had to take the bus to every interview and for sometime no cell phone so he couldn't get call backs. When you lose one resource, it often cascades to more loss. There are various pitfalls into homelessness, but I know getting back up isn't just a matter of individual grit; it's how much support they can get while they are trying to get back to resources to help them keep a home.
